Description
Modular Can Dispenser – Stackable, Strong, and Efficient
This 3D-printable can dispenser is designed to combine maximum strength with minimal filament usage while maximizing storage capacity. It’s optimized for standard cans with a diameter of 75 mm and a length of 110 mm, but it also works reliably with smaller cans. Need to store larger ones? Simply scale the model to fit your needs. (Not tested for bigger diameters yet)
The overall footprint is compact yet efficient:
- Width: 125 mm
- Depth: 370 mm (extended bottom section for easier can retrieval)
- Height: Fully modular
- Base layer: 108 mm
- Each additional layer: ~195mm
Each layer provides space for approximately 8 cans, making it easy to scale your storage exactly to your needs.
Fully Modular & Infinitely Stackable
The standout feature of this design is its infinitely stackable system. Each layer clips securely into the next, allowing you to build as many levels as you want. Whether you need a small organizer or a full storage tower, you’re in control.
Multiple dispensers can also be placed side-by-side to expand your setup horizontally.
Optimized Strength & Efficiency
All parts are carefully oriented to ensure maximum structural strength, resulting in a very sturdy build despite low filament usage.
Printing Notes
For the chute components, multiple build plates are included (4-part, 3-part, 2-part, and single-part versions). Depending on your printer and desired size, choose the most suitable option to reduce supports and printing time.
You can also remove some supports on straight overhangs to save material. This may slightly reduce surface quality but does not affect functionality.
Assembly
Assembly requires screws. The design is based on standard 3×20 mm universal / wood screws, though any comparable / similar sized screws will work. Just use what you already have.
For additional rigidity, the chutes include evenly spaced holes. You can insert short pieces of filament to pin them to the side panels. Usually this isn’t necessary—the structure is already strong enough to support the full load of cans.
Compatibility
This model is designed to fully utilize the build area of an H2S build plate.
If your printer has a smaller printable area, the full-size parts may not fit. In that case, the side panels and other components can be cut down to suit smaller printers. This approach should work in theory, but it has not been tested, so expect some trial and adjustment. Let me know if you found a working solution though!
