Description
Hello everyone!
Following the incredible response to the Cast-Net Slip-ons, I wanted to create something even more casual, comfortable, and easy to wear. I took the parametric lattice technology I developed and applied it to a open-heel slide profile.
Introducing the Cast-Net Slip-ons Gen.2

Flexible, Breathable, & Ready for Summer
Inspired by the intricate, quad-based topology of fishing nets, this design explores the absolute limits of flexible filaments. I wanted to create a wearable slide that provides controlled stretch, exceptional breathability, and a striking visual aesthetic.
What Makes the Slides Different?
- Upgraded Comfort (TPU 90A): While previous models used firmer 95A TPU, these slides are engineered specifically for TPU 90A. This softer material provides much more comfort, making them perfect for lounging around.
- Easy Slip-On Form Factor: The open-back design means you can just slide your feet in and go.
Maximum Breathability: The continuous open-net lattice structure allows for maximum airflow, keeping your feet cool even on hot days.
Advanced Print Profile: Engineered for Comfort
Printing with softer 90A TPU requires a bit of patience, but I have completely optimised the print profile with specific slicer modifiers to give you the perfect fit and feel right off the build plate:
- Variable Density Pressure Points: Just like a real sneaker midsole, the infill isn't uniform! I have added modifier blocks to target specific pressure zones:
- Heel: Set to 18% infill to absorb impact as you walk.
- Ball & Toe: Set to 15% infill for support during push-off.
- Mid-Sole/Arch: The rest of the sole drops down to a softer 12% infill.
- (Note: You can select these separate modifier blocks in your slicer and adjust the percentages to perfectly tune the firmness to your own weight!)

- Built-In Traction: I have applied a targeted Fuzzy Skin modifier exclusively to the sole. This provides instant, built-in grip and traction on indoor floors
- Print Speed: Go slow! Because 90A is softer, you need to reduce your print speeds significantly (around 20-35 mm/s) to prevent the filament from buckling in your extruder.
Supports: The model is be printed upright or diagonally. Custom tree supports touching the build plate are required for the main arch/toe overhang. Adjusted Z-distance slightly higher to make removal easier!
Size chart incoming, to resize for now multiply your foot length in millimetres by 0.344 and use the result as your scale

I can't wait to see the colour combinations you all print these in. Happy printing!
I'm continuously creating new items so please follow @moss3d to be notified when I upload new models.
