The King of Fighters - Maxima

Maxima is a virtual character in the fighting game series "The King of Fighters" by SNK. His Japanese voice actor is Katsuyuki Konishi, and he has appeared in several titles from "The King of Fighters 99" to "The King of Fighters 15". Originally a Canadian officer, he infiltrated NESTS (Nests) after his comrades were killed by the organization, becoming a cyborg modified under Project M. His body is 80% mechanized and equipped with a battle analysis device, weighing 219 kg [5] [7-8]. Starting in 1999, he defected from the organization with K', successively defeating Krizalid, Zero, and Igniz, ultimately destroying NESTS [5] [11].

Maxima has a rugged appearance but a calm demeanor, serving as K's guardian and partner. He obtains team funds through hacking, prefers sweets, and abstains from alcohol [5] [7]. In combat, he uses M-style fighting techniques combined with an internal weapon system (such as steam cannons and lasers). His armor can withstand continuous rifle fire, and some of his moves are inspired by Clark's grappling techniques [7] [9].

His motive for defection stemmed from exposing NESTS' crimes, and he saved K's life multiple times during their joint operations [5] [7]. After the organization's collapse, he wandered with K', Kula, and others. In "The King of Fighters 15", he formed a new team with Whip to continue fighting against the remaining forces.
