Description
This is a representation of the TI-30X Plus calculator by Texas Instruments.
I designed this as part of a phone case project built around it and decided to share the calculator model on its own. The phone case may be posted in the future.
The design is not fully accurate dimensionally as I only had an analogue calliper available, but it should be enough for 3D printing. The buttons feature the original text but not the original fonts — I tried mimicking those but only got as far as this model goes. The secondary functions are not included as they would not be printable at all. Be aware that the text on the buttons is small enough that Arachne wall generation is not sufficient for the required precision, so faults are to be expected. You can preview in your slicer before printing if you are unsure. Some buttons may feature no text at all after slicing, even with a 0.2mm nozzle.
None of the buttons can be pressed.
The cover featured in the calculator is not provided and may be added in the future. Keep an eye on my profile if you wish.
The model is available in six colours via the 3mf file. The beige colour is omitted from the Bambu file because my H2C only has five 0.4mm nozzles, making a six-colour print wasteful. The beige feature was not particularly accurate to begin with, so this is a minor compromise.
The screw holes are modelled but the screws themselves are not printed. I am not certain whether a screw can actually be inserted without cracking the plastic, as there are only two walls in those areas. They should be M2x8mm if I recall correctly.
Supports are required due to the anti-slide knobs on the bottom of the body. These raise the body by approximately three layers and make supports necessary in that area.
I did not use AI in the process of designing this model. Everything you can see is made by a human and will be.
Please note that I am not affiliated with Texas Instruments in any way. This is a personal recreation of the calculator — the files are made by me and not extracted from any official source. This model is not to be sold and is intended for private use only. I do not intend to infringe on Texas Instruments' image or sales in any way.
