I designed this Bambu Lab wall lightbox to achieve a clean, precise, and easy-to-assemble result, specifically intended for home 3D printing.
The project consists of elements designed to simplify assembly and improve part alignment, thus achieving a tidy finish even during quick assembly.

The structure includes interlocking joints already designed for quick and precise gluing, guiding the correct positioning of the pieces and preventing errors during the joining phase. For assembling the lightbox, I recommend using cyanoacrylate adhesive, ideal for a fast and reliable bond.

Inside each letter, there is a recess dedicated to the passage of the LED strip, to facilitate internal wiring and keep the project tidy. To achieve a more uniform light diffusion, I recommend installing the LEDs on the inner walls of the lightbox instead of in a central position or on the bottom.

The diffusers have been dimensioned taking into account the tolerances of PLA Basic Bambu Lab material. The measurements have therefore been specifically designed for this filament, to offer a correct fit and better compatibility during assembly. If different materials or printers with different tolerances are used, small adjustments may be necessary.

For wall mounting, the model integrates 3 pre-drilled holes for mounting with nails, making installation simple and immediate.

This project is ideal for anyone who wants to create a decorative illuminated sign for their printing corner, workshop, studio, or maker setup.

Key Features

  • Assembly recommended with cyanoacrylate adhesive
  • Designed interlocking joints for quick and precise connection
  • Diffuser tolerances optimized for PLA Basic Bambu Lab
  • 3 rear holes for wall mounting with nails
  • Internal recess in each letter for LED strip passage
  • LED mounting recommended on the inner walls of the lightbox for better light output

Note

To achieve the best aesthetic and functional result:

  • always check the fit of the diffusers before final assembly
  • do a dry fit of the components
  • glue only after checking alignment and LED passage
  • if the interlocking joints are loose, add thin strips of masking tape to the inner wall
  • for the final pair of AB letters, support is necessary (already present in the 3mf)
