The Last Hair Claw You’ll Ever Need.

Tired of wearing the same boring hair claw as everyone else? Personalize your style with the Modular Hair Claw. The pop-on skin system means you can switch your look in seconds without needing a whole new clip.

  • Switch It Up: From sleek matte black for the office to vibrant marble patterns.
  • Eco-Friendly: Stop throwing plastic in the landfill every time a spring gets weak.
  • Travel Light: Pack one core and as many skins as you want to match every outfit in your suitcase.

Breathe New Life Into Your Old Clips

Have you got a broken hair clip gathering dust, or just want to make an upgrade? Don't toss it—upcycle it. Simply use the torsion spring from your old, broken clips.

New patterns will be continually released.

Assembly

The base hair claw prints in parts, and is assembled with super glue. This choice was made to completely remove the need for support material, to maximize print qualiy and strength.

The hinge simply uses a 25 mm long piece of filament.

Mounting the torsion spring can be a bit tricky since has to be under tension. I created a 3d printed jig for this that makes this process A LOT easier by holding the spring in place under tension. I still highly recommend using safety glasses when mounting it.

What size spring do I need?

Hello! the inner diameter needs to be wide enough for the filament (1.75mm). The design is optimized for 10 mm coil length, but shorter is fine. The legs of the spring should be between 10-15 mm. The max deflection angle of the spring needs to be wide enough allow the hair claw to fully open and close without the spring taking permanent damage. The wire diameter of my spring is 1 mm. I just used the spring from my girlfriends old hair claw and it worked fine 😁

This was a pain to assemble with super glue. Can you release another version that prints the two complete sides (supports ok). Thanks!

Yeah I've been thinking about doing a version like that. I chose super glue instead of support, but I see the downside of that. I appreciate the feedback
