Description

Do you want to raid a horde of Saxons or just defend the last slice of pizza?

Whatever your goal is, do it with style. This isn't just an axe – it’s pure Nordic wildness cast in plastic. The wolf on the blade looks so grim that even your final boss – the tax return – will run for cover.

Every detail is razor-sharp: from the shaggy wolf fur to the runes that probably mean something like "I printed this and now I'm the boss of the house" or "I desperately need more filament."

Why you need this on your build plate:

  • Grim Wolf Look: A design that takes no prisoners.
  • Nordic Runes: Because everything looks 100% more epic with runes.
  • Ego Boost: Hang it on your wall and feel like a Jarl while eating cereal in your underwear.

Print & Finishing Tips

To make this piece look like you took it from a defeated giant, here are the hard facts for your printer:

  • Material: Black PLA (The only true base for a real metallic look).
  • Layer Height: 0.16 mm (So every hair in the wolf's fur comes out perfectly).
  • Support: Yes, you’ll need supports – but a true warrior doesn't shy away from a challenge.
  • The Ultimate Look (Dry Brushing):
    1. Grab some Metallic Bronze or Copper for the runes and the handle wrap.
    2. Dry brush the wolf fur with Metallic Silver until it shines like cold steel.
    3. The Pro-Tip: Put a tiny dot of Gold in the wolf's eye. After that, he’ll be watching you. I promise.

Get it done, paint it, and definitely upload a photo of your result!

Wonderful model! I printed it in PLA. There are some traces of the end print on the support line, but it's not a big deal. I probably didn't get the settings right. I made it as a gift for a friend, and he was thrilled. Thanks to @sorrow880 for the painting reference; I was really inspired by his photo in the comments.

Hey, thanks a lot for the photos! The axe looks amazing in that Burnt Metallic PLA – it really gives it that heavy, forged look. Great to hear your son is happy with it! Thanks for the support and the boost, man!

Could you design a hanger to hang this on? It would be a better combination.

Thanks for the suggestion! That's a cool idea and I'll keep it in mind for future updates. However, you can also easily add a mounting hole yourself directly in the slicer right now: just add a negative cylinder volume into the handle where you want it. This creates a clean hole in the print so you can easily hang it up!

You're absolutely right, but I want it to be a more original hanger. Additionally, I printed it and painted it with automotive paint, using a paint mixture that can transition between 2-3 colors. If it had a strap, I would share it.
