Description

📝 Description

This enclosure is designed specifically for the LRS-350-24 power supply (24V / 350W) and is used as a boost kit PSU for Fanatec wheelbases (8 Nm upgrade).

It combines structural rigidity, efficient cooling, and clean cable management in a compact form factor.

The design features a triangular lattice structure that:

  • reduces weight
  • maintains high stiffness
  • looks cool 🙂

All connections remain easily accessible:

  • AC IN (230V)
  • DC OUT (24V)
  • Integrated engraved labels for clarity

🎮 Fanatec Use Case (Boost Kit)

This enclosure is designed to be used with a Fanatec wheelbase upgrade to 8 Nm.

  • The PSU provides sufficient power for 8 Nm
  • No additional fan is required – only the internal PSU fan is used
  • In testing, the PSU did not get warm enough for the internal fan to activate

🔌 Cable Management

Cables are secured using zip ties for strain relief.

Required zip ties (2× per cable cutout):

  • Thickness: ~1 mm
  • Width: ~2 mm
  • Length: variable (≥ 50 mm recommended)

This ensures:

  • proper strain relief
  • reduced stress on terminals
  • clean and safe wiring

🔩 Hardware Required

  • 4× M3 threaded inserts
  • 8× M3×6 screws
  • Zip ties

🔧 Assembly

  1. Install threaded inserts (M3)
  2. Insert the PSU
  3. Route cables and secure them with zip ties
  4. Connect AC and DC wiring
  5. Secure the power supply from below using 4× M3×6 screws
  6. Close the enclosure using 4× M3×6 screws

📏 Compatibility

  • Meanwell LRS-350-24
  • Other LRS-350 variants with identical dimensions
