⚡ Bonsai Pikachu in a Zen Garden: A 3D Printed Fascination 🌳🪨

Welcome to my latest project! This model combines the world of Pokemon with the tranquility of nature. It features a unique, root-like Pikachu peacefully sitting on a stone base under a bonsai tree. An absolute eye-catcher for every Pokémon fan and art lover!

🔍 About the Model

This Pikachu is no ordinary Pokémon character. Its body consists of complex, root-like elements and open lattice structures that offer glimpses into an imaginary inner life. It sits on a realistically designed rock or stone base. Directly behind it rises a beautiful, winding bonsai tree, lending a sense of balance and serenity to the entire piece.

This model was designed / curated / printed and painted by me with great attention to detail. In the photo, you can see my finished, painted result.

🎨 My Process: From Gray to Gold (and Green!)

In the photos, you can see the comparison between the raw, gray 3D print (unprocessed) and the finished painted model.

  • The Raw Figure: A detailed print in gray PLA. The clear lines and complexity of the root design are visible.
  • The Painted Figure: After priming, I applied various techniques to bring the model to life.
  • Pikachu: Painted in various brown and yellow tones to emphasize the root-like appearance. The recesses were treated with a dark wash to create depth.
  • Bonsai Tree & Base: The trunk and stones were painted with realistic brown and gray tones and highlighted with drybrushing. The foliage received a rich green.

🖨️ Printing and Processing Instructions

Printer: I printed this model on my Bambu Lab P1P with  Bambu Lab PLA Basic for maximum detail

  • Slicer: Bambu Studio / OrcaSlicer / ChiTuBox
  • FDM: 0.12 mm or finer (for best results)
  • Supports: Yes, supports are absolutely necessary! Make sure to place the supports so they do not damage the delicate lattice inside Pikachu. Tree supports are particularly effective here, as they save material and are easier to remove.
  • Infill (for FDM): 10-15% is sufficient.
  • Post-processing: After printing, supports must be carefully removed. Light sanding of contact points is recommended. Priming is essential before painting.

📂 What's Included in the File?
