Hello everyone…
As has been happening for a while now, whenever we have a couple of free hours, my partner and I dedicate ourselves to 3D printing, trying to share our creations with all of you as much as possible…
That said, here is a new model:
This Daruma figurine is a modern and minimalist reinterpretation of the traditional Japanese symbol of perseverance and luck. The model was designed to be printed in black and white, creating a strong visual contrast that emphasizes the details of the face, carvings, and iconic eye.
The design maintains the neutral color of the material, making it elegant and versatile: perfect as a decorative element, symbolic gift, or motivational desk item.
🎌 History and meaning of the Daruma
The Daruma originates from the figure of Bodhidharma, the founding monk of Zen. Traditionally, these dolls represent determination, resilience, and goal achievement.
It is customary to color in one eye when expressing a wish or goal, and to complete the second eye once it is achieved. Its limbless form symbolizes the ability to always get back up, just like the famous Japanese saying: “Nanakorobi yaoki” (fall seven times, get up eight).
