Description

Tired of hunting for the perfect adapter? Take full control with this Ultimate Parametric Thread & Hose Configurator! Designed for makers who need precision and flexibility, this tool allows you to generate custom connectors for Metric (M-Standard), Imperial Pipe (G/BSP), or smooth hose fittings in seconds.

Whether you are fixing a garden irrigation system, building a custom dust extraction for your workshop, or rigging a PC water-cooling loop, this script has you covered. You can choose between three smart designs:

  • Hex (Wrench): Automatically snaps to standard DIN wrench sizes (like 17mm, 19mm, 24mm).
  • Knurled (Hand Grip): Perfect for wet environments and easy hand-tightening.
  • Direct Connect: For the most compact, seamless transitions.

Technical Excellence: Built with the BOSL2 library, every thread features optimized lead-ins for a "butter-smooth" start and adjustable clearance (default 0.2mm) to match your printer's accuracy. The "Smart Wall" logic prevents fragile prints by ensuring structural integrity. No supports needed!

I printed an adapter for a washing machine connection. Did I feel like driving to the hardware store and spending money on a piece of plastic? No. Did I try to build the part with other OpenSCAD projects - YES.. but did it work? No... partly too old, no longer running or missing libraries.. Thank God you put this project on Makerworld.. it worked fabulously and has exactly the functions I wanted. Best man. Thx. I will use it again ;)

Cool! I'm simply pleased every time I see that the work has paid off and how versatile 3D printing is generally used. Such positive feedback as yours is always motivation to continue releasing models and contribute to the community! Thanks!

i have a broken part on a washer wand - i think the threads are garden hose. But fusion 360 does not have garden hose thread pattern. Is there a known method to create garden hose threads. I assume there must be as many models exist. This is the broken part. It screws onto a hose bib, but it is cracked so that might not be the exact thread type.

Hi drrumney! About the garden hose threads: I've added 3/4" GHT as a dedicated option in the customizer. Let me know if it works for your broken part!

Hello, I have tried to make a 1/2 BSP to 6mm barbed but impossible to make it watertight. Any idea what I could be missing?

There are two possibilities. If the 3D-printed part itself is not watertight, you can increase the nozzle temperature by 5-10°C. I also recommend a wall thickness of at least 6 layers and using PETG. If the part is leaking at the thread or the connection, you can either reduce the tolerances (though I wouldn't recommend that) or use a gasket or Teflon tape for sealing. You can find that in any hardware store, and it's also used for household plumbing. I hope these tips are helpful. Feel free to let me know if it worked. That will surely help others who have the same problem.

I have tried 6 walls using petg, and a good chunk of Teflon tape. It leaks within the body of the adapter between the thread and the bard. I think because of the significant diffirence in size between le 1/2 bsp and 6mm bard it would probably need some sort of taper.

Okay, I see. Have you tried using a knurled hand grip in between, like in the picture? I'll have a think about how an automatic taper could best be integrated into the configurator.

Hi, can you please add an option for smaller threads as well? I need an adapter from M10 to M8 and when trying to add it to the code it doesn't work anymore :)

Thanks for the file. I finally solve my issue to connect the host to my mixer. 2 suggestions, 1-add an option to reverse thread; 2-add in the missing M18 option. THANKS again.

Found this and thought it might be what I needed. Any chance you could add the ability to use M9 thread if it isn't too much trouble? Would be much appreciated! Specifically trying make an adaptor for a sim racing gear knob that uses an M9 1.25 thread for who knows what reason, so that I can attach gear knobs that use common threads.

Top! (even coarser thread types would also be great. I took the largest one for connecting a soap dispenser to the bottle. It just fits, but actually the thread should be coarser)
