This bonsai can either be used as a display stand where the leaf plates serve as platforms for your items, or you can take them off the branches and use them as coasters!
I designed it so that when placed upside down the lip around the edge of the leaf plates is captured by the branches, thereby preventing those plates from sliding off.
There is some minor assembly required. Each tier of the trunk and branches is its own piece. There are connectors that snap these together. It may be a little difficult to get those connectors in there. My recommendation is to pace the connector on a table and push the piece down on top of it.
The trunk fits snuggly into the base and should not require any glue. It is a tight tolerance, so depending on your printer's accuracy, you might encounter some interference. If this is the case, you can scale the base up very slightly (1.01).
