----- Model Info and Details -----
This chunky retro dump truck is the perfect example of what makes 3D printing so enjoyable. It mimics the real thing perfectly with its lifting and lowering tipping bed, smooth rolling wheels and classic toy feel. The bold rounded shape adds to its satisfying aesthetic. It’s a fantastic print for children, a great display piece or a fun sandbox companion and it’s built tough enough for some actual playtime.
The truck is printed in separate parts including the body, tipping bed, four chunky tyres, hubs and axle pegs. The bed clips into a mount on the truck’s rear allowing it to tilt freely without needing extra hardware. Once you’re happy with the rolling action, simply glue the wheel pegs in. Mix up your filament colours across the parts for a vibrant finish. The pink and green combo is hard to beat but any bold colour pairing works brilliantly.
Filament Colour and Material
PLA is ideal here, easy to print and available in loads of vivid colours. Print the body in one colour and the bed in a contrasting shade for maximum impact. Black for the tyres and a matching accent colour for the hubs pulls the whole look together nicely.
Print Settings
- Wall line count: 2 or more

Assembly Instructions
What you'll need: A small amount of super glue or PLA-compatible adhesive.
Step 1. Remove your supports Start by removing all support material from your printed parts. Pay close attention to the wheel arches, cab interior, and any recesses on the truck bed mount. Flush cutters or a pair of pliers make this much easier.
Step 2. Fit the dump bed Slot the tipping bed into the mount on the rear of the truck body. It should clip in and tilt freely. Give it a few lifts to make sure it moves smoothly before moving on.

Step 3. Dry fit the wheels Push each axle peg through a wheel hub and into the truck body. The pegs can be a snug fit, so if they feel tight, try rotating the peg gently as you push it in. This helps it seat properly without forcing anything.
Step 4. Check everything rolls Once all four wheels are on, give the truck a roll across a flat surface. Make sure the wheels spin freely and everything sits straight before gluing anything.
Step 5. Glue it up When you're happy, remove each peg one at a time. Add a small drop of glue into the recess in the wheel, push the peg back in, and hold for a few seconds. Repeat for all four. Less glue is more, a small drop is plenty.
Tips
- Work one wheel at a time so you're not rushing before the glue sets.
- If a peg feels very tight, a quick light sand on the peg shaft can ease the fit.
- The dump bed needs no glue, it's designed to clip and tilt freely.
