Description

Description

This is a wizard-inspired chess board I designed to give a magical and premium look to your chess setup. The board features a built-in grid system that allows the printed tiles to sit neatly in place and stay aligned during use.

The project includes the board and the individual tiles. The chess pieces shown in the photos are not included.

Each tile is designed to be printed with a filament color change at layer 14 to create the emblem effect. I also recommend enabling ironing on the top surface for a smoother and more polished finish. The combination of color swap and ironing really enhances the contrast and detail.

To assemble, print all tiles and the board frame. After printing, simply place the tiles into the recessed grid pattern on the board. The grid keeps everything evenly spaced and aligned while allowing the tiles to be removed or rearranged if needed.

No supports are required. All parts are optimized for standard FDM printing.

Recommended settings:

  • 0.2mm layer height
  • Color change at layer 14
  • Ironing enabled (top surfaces)
  • 15–20% infill
  • No supports
