The 1933 Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle is one of the world's rarest and most valuable coins, with nearly all 445,500 minted examples melted down, except for a few that entered private hands. A single specimen sold for a record $18.9 million in 2021, making it the only one legally available to private owners.
