Summary

Conversion for an old Renz mailbox or similar...
because the original from Renz costs approx. 50-80€ per piece, so 100-150€ for the 2 buttons (Ugly)...
and because an old crappy Siedle was installed in the mailbox.
Was converted to a used Behnke Type20 A/B
(Super workmanship and sound quality, used price from 70€, and with a Linksys PAP2T Voip Adapter approx. 30€,
and a used KNX / EIB flush-mounted button actuator interface 15€,
a super combination that is future-proof and expandable and works free from APPs and data theft)

the button frame is the old original Renz (bell button disassembled) then it doesn't matter if it's silver, white or, like mine, brown

Printed no supports or similar, with some old PETG remnant in off-white

into the flags, 4mm Spax screws or similar can be turned for tensioning
(I subsequently heated the flags with a small gas torch and bent them to fit (quick and dirty))

an LED strip 12V warm white has been glued to the back wall, which is currently powered with 8v
otherwise, it's really too bright.

the hole on the back was sealed with tape
(against insects and other animals like donkeys, ducks, and elephants, basically anything that climbs into illuminated bell housings).

the bell button is the original from Behnke.

the lettering is a DIN A3 Outdoor Matt sticker from
www.wir-machen-druck.de (super satisfied with this shop)
I think well under 20€ with shipping.
the stickers were roughly cut out and then applied warm with a hairdryer
(the corners were pulled over warm)

Assembly: Luminous button element from the back and old button frame from the front until it clicks into place and then tighten clamping screws (after tight comes loose!)

"Renz 07-112 replacement" is the matching nameplate on the mailbox
(with a matching sticker remnant from the sheet)
Assembly: Just push it in, as a part of the holder broke off on mine,
Heat up and bend :-D holds great (qad).

the button illumination is now switched on/off via KNX through the flush-mounted button actuator interface
by the central twilight switch and forwards the Behnke
contacts 1 & 2 to the KNX bus for further processing.

future-proof, without cloud, cost-effective, durable, and proven technology

for less than 150€ together, you can transform an old Renz mailbox into a
new era and a new level. (Dry mail included.)
