Marcus Tullius Cicero â Bust
đ«đ· French
This bust represents Marcus Tullius Cicero, one of the greatest orators, philosophers, and statesmen of the Roman Republic. Born in 106 BC in Arpinum, Cicero established himself as a major figure in Roman political and intellectual life thanks to his exceptional talent for eloquence and rhetoric.
A brilliant lawyer and defender of the Republic, he is best known for his famous speeches against Catiline, in which he denounced a conspiracy aimed at overthrowing the Roman order. His influence was not limited to politics: his philosophical writings and treatises on eloquence, morals, and politics profoundly marked Western thought for more than two millennia. Through his works, Cicero sought to transmit the ideas of Greek philosophy to the Roman world, thus contributing to shaping the intellectual foundations of European culture.
This bust is inspired by the most popular and widely disseminated representation of Cicero, known through preserved ancient sculptures and modern reproductions of his portrait. The sculptural interpretation highlights the distinctive features and reflective character of the famous orator, in a form adapted for the creation of a 3D printed bust.
