This bust represents Charles André Joseph Marie de Gaulle, better known as Charles de Gaulle, a major figure in the history of France in the 20th century. A general, statesman, and founder of the Fifth Republic, he embodies French resistance and national sovereignty.

The sculpture is inspired by one of the General's most famous photographs, showing him with his serious and determined expression. This version depicts him dressed in his general's uniform and wearing his famous kepi, an immediately recognizable symbol of his military authority and his role during the Second World War.

This iconic portrait evokes the image of the leader of Free France, who launched the Appeal of June 18, 1940 from London to continue the fight against the German occupation. The whole aims to restore the presence and dignity of this great political figure, whose actions profoundly marked the modern history of France.
