Unifi US-8-60W 10" Rack Mount with LED Indicators

I had this idea — why should rack mounting your switch mean losing visibility of the front panel LEDs? Most rack mounts cover everything up, so I designed this bracket specifically for the Unifi US-8-60W to keep all 8 port LEDs fully visible and readable while sitting neatly in a 10" rack.

What makes this different

 Most rack mounts for this switch completely cover the front panel. This design features a dedicated LED indicator window with translucent PETG deflectors that allow the green and orange port LEDs to shine through clearly. A separate white PETG reflector sits behind the LED window and dramatically improves light transmission — making the indicators easy to read at a glance even from a distance.

Parts

This model consists of two parts:

• Main frame — includes the integrated translucent LED deflectors

• LED reflector — a separate piece that slides into place after the switch is inserted

   

Variants

Two variants available — 3mm and 4mm front panel thickness to match other rack panels.

Print settings

• Material: PETG recommended (or higher) to avoid heat deformation
• Layer height: 0.2mm
• Infill: 10% gyroid or higher for sides
• Front panel: 25% gyroid infill, 4 walls, 4/6 bottom/top layers (modifier included in 3MF)
• The reflector should be printed in white PETG for best LED performance
• The LED frame can be printed in any color of your choice — match the body or go with an accent color
• Translucent PETG for the deflectors gives the best result, though leaving them empty may also work
• PETG on smooth PEI: Use a release agent like hairspray/glue to protect your plate and make sure it comes off nicely!

Installation

 Slide the switch into the bracket. The reflector slides into position after the switch is in place — you may need to apply light pressure when inserting the switch but it should slide in nicely. Mount to your 10" rack using standard rack screws.

Notes

 Under certain lighting conditions — particularly when orange and green LEDs are active side by side — there may be minor light bleed between indicators. This is barely noticeable to the human eye in normal use and is a result of the translucent PETG material. The white reflector significantly improves overall LED visibility and is strongly recommended.

• Made holes smaller 7.5mm→6.5mm since 7.5mm is quite big for M5 screws, so 6.5mm suits well for both. (Tested with KWS and LabRax)
