Description

Honda CRX Del Sol 6.5" Speaker Mount (Door & Rear)

Custom 6.5 inch speaker mounts designed for the Honda CRX Del Sol.

These mounts allow you to install 6.5 inch speakers in the door and rear locations of the car. They were designed and tested with Gladen RC 165 coaxial speakers but should also fit most standard 165 mm (6.5") speakers.

The rear mounts screw directly onto the factory mounting points and allow for a clean and stable installation without trimming the speakers or the speaker covers.

Door Mount Notes

I unfortunately forgot to take pictures of the door mounts.

They fit without touching the window glass, so clearance should not be an issue.
I do not have the OEM speaker covers for the doors, so I could not test the fitment with them.

Instead, I use aftermarket speaker mesh to protect the speakers. The mesh was already installed and glued in place, so I cannot easily test OEM cover fitment without ripping the door leather.

Features

  • Designed for Honda CRX Del Sol
  • Fits 6.5" / 165 mm speakers
  • Door and rear mount versions
  • Clean OEM-style fit
  • Door fitment not tested with OEM speaker covers
  • Strong and heat-resistant when printed in PETG

Compatibility

Tested with:

  • Gladen RC 165 coaxial speakers
  • Non-OEM speaker covers

Other 6.5" speakers with similar mounting patterns should also fit.

Installation

  1. Print the mounts in PETG.
  2. Attach the speakers to the mount using M3 screws and nuts.
  3. Install the mount in the factory speaker location.

The original mounting points from the vehicle can be reused.

Print Settings

Recommended print settings:

  • Material: PETG / ABS
  • Infill: 15%
  • Layer height: 0.2 mm
  • Supports: Not required (depending on orientation)

PETG or ABS is recommended because they handle car interior temperatures much better than PLA.

PLA can soften or deform if the car is left in direct sunlight, especially during summer.

I printed mine in PETG, and it has been holding up well so far. ABS might be an even better choice for very hot climates or vehicles with dark interior colors, where temperatures inside the car can get significantly higher.
