Description

I designed this three way air diverter valve for my window mounted exhaust system. I wanted to connect my 3d Printer and a duct for soldering fumes to the vent outside, using just one inline fan.

Using this valve, you can decide where you want full airflow, or even decrease airflow when needed. Turning the inner core halfway for example, limits the internal opening and less air can flow by. This was important so i could limit the airflow when printing draft and temperature sensitive filaments, because else the chamber gets too cold quickly.

Hardware needed:

  • 4-8x M3 Bolts
  • 4-8x M3 Heat Inserts (3x5x5mm inserts)
  • Optionally a 26mm O-Ring to additionally seal the lid (But probably overkill)
  • A bit of grease, to aid smooth rotation

Because of tolerances of different printers, the handle may be a bit loose on the hex shaft. If this is the case use a bit of tape to tighten the connection.
