🐉 Dragon Crest – Efficient Multicolor Printing (AMS & Manual)

This detailed dragon crest is designed to be extremely efficient to print despite its impressive multicolor capabilities. The design uses intelligent layer-based color separation, making it an ideal project for anyone looking to save time and material.

🛠️ Highlights of this model:

• AMS-Optimized: The model is prepared for the AMS, but only requires 4 color changes for the entire object!
• Printing WITHOUT AMS: Since color changes only occur at specific layer heights, the model is theoretically printable without AMS. You can simply set pauses (M600) in the slicer and manually change the filament.
• No Material Waste: Since the colors are separated by layer height, there is almost no purge waste ("Poop").
• High-Quality Appearance: The dragon is physically raised (relief), which provides a great 3D tactile feel.

💡 TIP: Two-sided Medal

Since the frame is completely symmetrical, you can simply print the model twice and glue the backs together. This will give you a solid, two-sided medal that can rotate perfectly on a ribbon and looks fantastic from both sides!

📋 Print Recommendations:

• Layer height: 0.12mm
• Colors (as in photo): 1. Gold/Yellow, 2. Silver, 3. Red, 4. Black.
• Ironing: Activate "Ironing for all top surfaces" to give the shield background a mirror-smooth finish.
