Description

A simple, strong, and easy-to-print breakaway clasp for necklaces, lanyards, bracelets, paracord projects, key holders, and other corded accessories. This clasp was specifically designed to print well in PLA and has been working great in real use. It’s a clean, practical design that gives you a secure connection while still allowing the two halves to separate when needed.

Included are 3 different sizes to match a range of cord, string, and paracord projects:

  • 3mm
  • 4.5mm
  • 6mm

These sizes refer to the hole diameter for the cord/string/paracord that passes through the clasp.

For easy printing, each size is placed on its own print plate, and I also included a 4th print plate containing all 3 sizes together.

This model is great for:

  • paracord bracelets
  • lanyards
  • necklaces
  • light-duty corded accessories
  • custom wearable projects
  • quick replacement clasps

Important Warning

Do not snap the two clasp halves together without cord, rope, paracord, or another material inserted through them first. They can be difficult to pull back apart by hand without something inserted to give you better leverage.

Quick Paracord Bracelet Tutorial

This bracelet uses the 4.5mm clasp size.

Step 1

Thread both clasp half onto one end of the paracord, with the small ends facing each other

Step 2

Wrap or size the bracelet to fit your wrist, then cut the paracord to the desired length.

Step 3

Carefully melt each end of the paracord so it forms a slight bulge. This bulged end keeps the cord from slipping back through the clasp hole.

Step 4

Once both ends are melted and secured, connect the clasp halves to finish the bracelet.
