Description
Simple CO2 laser tube holder designed for 60 mm laser tubes.
This is a fixed holder without built-in adjustment.
The inner diameter is 66 mm so rubber strips or pads must be used to support and cushion the tube.
Distance from base to tube center (beam-ish center) is 56 mm.
Hardware required
This design requires brass inserts.
- 16x M4 brass inserts (≈6 mm outer diameter) (24x inserts if you print with adjustable base plate)
- Insert holes: 5.5 mm
- 16x M4 screws, 12 -18mm length (24x if you print with adjustable base plate)
The base plate and tube holder are assembled with 6 M4 screws.
This is likely overkill, but ensures the bracket stays rigid over time.
In practice 4 screws (one in each corner) would likely be sufficient.
Using light Loctite on the base screws is recommended.
Tube support
Designed for 60 mm CO2 laser tubes.
Key dimensions:
- Inner diameter: 66 mm
- Base to tube center: 56 mm
The extra clearance allows the use of rubber pads or strips to support the tube.
Height adjustment
Although the holder itself has no adjustment, small alignment changes can still be made:
- Use shims under the base plate or print the adjustable base plate.
- Use thicker rubber pads under the tube
- Use thinner pads above the tube
This allows small adjustments to the tube center height.
Print recommendations
- Material: PETG recommended (PLA also works)
- Designed for use with brass inserts
