Ultimate Bike Chain Cleaner & Oil Applicator

Regular maintenance is important for the life time and low friction of a bike chain, especially in winter, rain or dirt conditions.

Using cleaner and oil spray is always a mess and afterwards the bike and surroundings are full of cleaner and oil and not where it mostly belongs: on the chain. Furthermore it is a waste of cleaner and oil which is not on the chain.

Her it is. An applicator which sprays cleaner and oil on the chain and prevents to have cleaner and oil elsewhere.

The internal spray outlet design has the dimension of a bike chain with six main channels that will reach the inside rollers of the chain where the oil is really needed.

Instruction for cleaning and oiling a bike chain:

1. Print this model (for 65 mm spray can) with PETG filament (do not use PLA as it is not oil and solvent resistant and not flexible enough) and optionally the 57 mm spray can adapter. Use a long screwdriver to easily remove the support structure in the center of the adapter.

2. 

   Buy a spray cleaner and spray oil of your choice and snap it to the applicator (optionally use holes for cable tie or hooks for rubber band)

   Make sure that the spray includes an straw (2.2 to 2.3 mm) to attach to the applicator or you have one from other cans. Cut the straw (e.g. with a PTFE tube cutter or sharp cutter knife) to the appropriate length for the applicator.

3. Prepare two clothes that fit in the collection containers and a glove if you want using the cloth to wipe off excess cleaner & oil

   

   

4. Use the slot to fit in the chain

   

5. Hold the spray can with the left hand and with right hand rotate the chain with the bike pedals backward and check if everything runs freely through the applicator.
   If yes, repeats this and press the spray button. While applying the spray rotate the pedals for at least three turns to make sure that the complete chain has been running at least once through the applicator. 

6. Detach the applicator and wipe off the excess solvent with one of the clothes, while rotating the chain backwards.

   

7. Repeat the above steps (4 to 6) above with the oil (lubricant) spray. Reuse the clothes and glove if there are not to dirty.

8. 

   

   Enjoy your fresh cleaned and oiled bike chain. Even with an e bike you should feel and hear the difference.
