Airless Basketball – Fast Print Remix (Version 2)

This is a remix of the airless basketball originally created by MakeItLabChannel. The original full-size ball takes around 65 hours to print, which is too long for many people, including me. Because of this, I designed a smaller, faster version so more people can try printing an airless basketball without waiting days for the print to finish.

This Version 2 is a big improvement over Version 1.

In Version 1, the ball was too thin, and the supports sometimes damaged the surface when removing them. To fix this, I made several changes:

• Top Z Distance: 0.28 – supports removal much more easily without damaging the ball.
• Wall Loops: 7 – the ball is now stronger, thicker, and more durable.
• The new settings also make the ball more bouncy and reliable.

I tested Version 2 with four different materials:

• PLA Basic
• PLA Silk
• TPU 85
• TPU 95

All of them printed perfectly and without problems.

The ball now prints in about 7 hours, which is much faster than the 65-hour original, while still keeping the airless lattice design and bounce.

This remix is perfect for people who want to try printing an airless basketball quickly, test different materials, or show off the design without extremely long print times.
