3D Miniature of Stade de la Beaujoire
Model Information:
The stadium was built for the Euro 1984 and has since been the scene of many legendary victories for FC Nantes and the French national team.
- The “Wave” Architecture: The most striking feature for a 3D model is the curved, contiguous roof that spans all stands without interruption. It looks like a single, large wave surrounding the pitch.
- Les Canaris: The stadium shines completely in Yellow and Green during home games. The passionate fans (especially in the Tribune Loire) create a yellow wall, giving the stadium its nickname “La Maison Jaune” (The Yellow House).
- Historic Moments: Here, France's legendary 3:2 victory against Portugal took place at Euro '84. It was also a venue for the 1998 World Cup and the 2023 Rugby World Cup.
- Capacity & Atmosphere: With approximately 35,000 seats, it offers a dense yet airy atmosphere. The stands are very steep and close to the action, perfectly complementing the “Nantes style” (fluid short passing game).
- Namesake: It is named after Louis Fonteneau, the long-serving president under whom the club celebrated its greatest successes.
