Extended‑cage variant of the original SpinDot. Same sphere, expanded motion space. Fully support‑free.
SpinDot TALL is an extended‑cage variant of the original SpinDot. It uses the exact same inner sphere, tolerances, and dual‑axis rotation system, but increases the vertical cage height to introduce new motion behaviors. The taller geometry enables controlled gliding, 180° flip‑settling, smoother scroll‑style rotations along the side surfaces, and more stable tipping motions. All parts remain fully support‑free and require no post‑processing.
The design preserves the precise rotational feel of the original SpinDot while expanding the range of possible interactions through a rebalanced mass distribution and extended grip geometry. Dual‑color printing is supported on H2C/H2D printers for improved motion visibility.
Silk PLA — Standard
Print time: 1h17min (1h23min including warm‑up) This profile focuses on surface quality and visual clarity. Silk PLA produces a smooth, metallic finish that highlights the extended cage geometry and gives the inner sphere a clean, reflective look. Despite the taller design, the model remains fully support‑free and prints reliably at standard speeds.
Silk PLA — x9 Speed
This high‑speed silk profile reduces overall print time while maintaining clean edges and a consistent sheen. Ideal for batch production or printing multiple color variants. The extended cage geometry remains fully support‑free even at elevated speeds, making this profile efficient and visually appealing.
PLA Basic — Fast Print
Print time: 59min (no warm‑up) This is the fastest way to print SpinDot TALL. PLA Basic handles high speeds well and produces a clean, functional result with excellent rotational performance. Perfect for quick tests, color experiments, or rapid prototyping. Still fully support‑free and dimensionally stable.
Dual‑Color (H2C / H2D)
This profile enables printing the inner sphere and outer cage in two different colors using dual‑extrusion printers such as the H2C or H2D. A contrasting sphere improves motion visibility and makes flip, glide, and scroll behaviors easier to observe. A prime tower is recommended for clean color separation. All geometry remains fully support‑free.
