Twist-Lock Pen – No Spring, 3-Position Lock

A simple, functional 3D-printed pen made from two parts:

• Main body
• Locking cap

The locking cap has three positions:

• Top – insert/remove refill
• Middle – storage
• Bottom – writing mode (refill locked)

No springs or small parts.

Designed to fit 6 mm diameter ink refills. 

Specifically tested with:

• Pentel EnerGel LRN5 refills https://www.pentel.com/products/energel-gel-pen-refill-lrn5

Other refills may also work as long as the diameter / dimensions are similar.

Print Settings:

• Printer: Ender 3 V2 Neo
• Material: eSun PLA+
• Nozzle Temp: 195 °C
• Bed Temp: 65 °C
• Layer Height: 0.2 mm
• Infill: 100%
• Infill Pattern: Gyroid
• Print Speed: 50 mm/s

• Wall Speed: 25 mm/s

   

• Recommended to print both parts standing vertically
• The body can be printed horizontally for extra strength
• Note that removing supports is difficult when printed horizontally
