Print Profile(1)

Description
Parametric Star Mask - Newtonian Style Spikes
Give your camera lens or refractor telescope a "Newtonian" look with this parametric star mask. This mask creates clean, 4-point diffraction spikes on bright stars in your image.
Originally designed and sold under the Astro By Orlando brand, I am now sharing these files for free with the community as I can no longer keep up with physical shipments due to starting a new job.
How to Customise
This model is fully parametric. To get the size you need:
- Click the "Customise" button on this page.
- Input the Diameter of your lens or telescope.
- The model will automatically regenerate to your exact specifications.
- Download the generated file and print.
Sizing and Fit
To make the correct size, measure the outer diameter of your lens hood or dew shield.
- The model includes a 0.5mm tolerance, so entering your exact measurement should provide a good fit.
- If you prefer a "soft" fit to protect your lens, you can enter a slightly larger diameter and add some felt tape to the inside of the mask rim.
How to Use
- Place the mask over the front of your lens or telescope.
- Ensure the crosshairs are aligned vertically/horizontally (or at your preferred angle for the spikes).
