Spiral Apple Fidget
Clean Two‑Color Print, No Supports Needed
This spiral apple is a fun, eye‑catching print that assembles easily and makes a great little gift for teachers, coworkers, students, or anyone who enjoys unique desk decor. At the default scale it stands 60 mm tall, but it can be scaled up or down without any issues. The red and green apple shown was scaled down and printed at 40mm tall.
Three-Part, Two‑Color Design
The model is split into three pieces for fast, clean, and waste‑free printing:
- Apple Top
- Apple Bottom
- Stem
The top and bottom print in your main color, while the stem prints separately in a second color. Because the stem is its own object, you get a true two‑color print without AMS, without filament swaps, and without purge blocks.
Filament Examples
The apple shown in the main photo was printed using:
- Overture Matte PLA – Light Brown for the apple body (Buy on Amazon)
- Bambu Lab PLA – Bronze for the stem (Bambu Lab link)
It also looks fantastic in red silk (Bambu Lab link), green silk (Buy on Amazon), or any glossy filament that brings out the spiral curves.
Recommended Print Settings
- Layer height: 0.20 mm
- Adaptive layers: Enabled for smoother curved surfaces
- Supports: None required
- Brim: Only needed on the stem for stability
- Material: PLA, Silk PLA, Matte PLA, or similar
- Scaling: Fully scalable up or down
The spiral geometry prints cleanly with no supports, and adaptive layers help the curves look extra smooth.
Simple Assembly
After printing, add a tiny drop of glue into the pre‑cut hole on the top piece and press the stem into place. Assembly takes just a moment. I use Gorilla Super Glue Gel, and it works great. You can buy it here on Amazon.
