Simple One-Sided Bass Drum Beater

This is my first model upload! I designed this beater to be a cheap simple DIY alternative to retail options. It’s designed to fit a 6mm metal rod. I used a spare brass rod for mine, but you can easily grab steel or aluminium lengths to experiment with different weights and throw to find your perfect feel.

• Hardware: 1x 6mm metal rod, 1x M6x16 bolt and 1x M6 nut.
• Assembly: Simple clamp system, place the nut in the hexagonal slot at the rear, place the beater on the rod, and insert the bolt and tighten until it stops sliding on it's own! Note: Don't overtighten the bolt, just enough to secure it so you don't crack the plastic.

I personally use this with an adhesive-backed rubber pad because I play on mesh heads with triggers (so acoustic volume isn't an issue). However, feel free to experiment with the raw 3D printed surface, rubber pads or felt furniture pads 

The filament used in the photos is Bambu PETG-CF (Black), however the profile is for PLA Matte. I think you would be fine printing in almost any material. You can try experimenting with material choices, infill density and modifier volumes to change the balance and feel.
