Description

Crumbs is one of my older characters and happy to finally bring him to Makerworld. This model has been delayed for a considerable amount of time. The G1 version of this character was released three years ago and used 3D printed hinge pins, which were a nightmare to deal with. A redesign was needed.

At first, I tried ball & socket joints, but I wasn’t happy with the results and how easily ball & socket joints lost their strength. I eventually settled on using self-tapping screws for a few reasons. Hinge pins need to be replaced pretty quickly, and ball & socket joints can get messy trying to apply nail polish/super glue. Screws aren’t perfect, but when the joint loosens up, all it takes is a ¼ turn with the screwdriver, and it tightens right up. Another reason is that I wanted a bot that was durable. A bot you could hold in your hand and shake it around without risk of an arm or leg flying off, which ball & socket joints are prone to.

Usually I would post the Assembly and Transformation guides in the description as well as in .pdf form, but they are so big that I'm leaving them out of the description. The guides can be found a little further down this page.

This model requires the following screws.

BT2x8 SHCS Self Tapping Screw x 16
BT2.5x18 SHCS Self Tapping Screw x 10
BT2.5x30 SHCS Self Tapping Screw x 7

The two bots you see in the photos demonstrating how they combine with Crumbs are Van Der Batter and Sliced Bread.

And if you like these bots, check out my Produce Wars collection.
