This compact EDC Survival Capsule is designed as a practical container for small emergency items during outdoor adventures. Whether you're hiking, trekking, camping, or exploring remote areas, this capsule provides a convenient way to carry essential gear in a compact and durable format.

The capsule features an integrated emergency whistle capable of producing up to 116 dB, allowing you to signal for help or alert others in case of danger, disorientation, or emergency situations. A loud whistle can be far more effective than shouting and helps preserve energy while increasing your chances of being heard from a distance.

Integrated Compass Slot (V2)

This updated version of the capsule includes a dedicated slot designed to integrate a small compass directly into the lid, allowing quick navigation reference without opening the container.

The compass housing is designed with the following dimensions:

• Diameter: 20.2 mm
• Depth: 5 mm

This slot allows you to press-fit or glue a compatible mini compass into the top of the lid, making the capsule even more useful as a compact outdoor tool.

Print Information

The model is designed to be printed in three separate parts:

• the container body
• the screw-on lid
• the whistle component

Only one small support is required, located under the whistle opening, which helps keep the print clean and easy to produce.

Whistle Assembly

The whistle is printed separately and slides into the groove located on the cap. The fit is intentionally tight so that the whistle locks firmly into place once inserted.

You have two possible options when assembling it:

Press-fit installation

The whistle can simply be pushed into the slot and will stay securely in place while still being removable if needed.

Permanent installation

If you want to ensure it never comes loose, you can apply a small drop of glue before inserting it. The whistle will then remain permanently fixed to the cap while remaining fully functional.

This flexible assembly approach allows users to choose between removability or permanent attachment depending on their preference.

Water Resistance

The V2 update improves water resistance by increasing the thickness of the lid threads by 2 mm. This modification creates a tighter fit between the lid and the container, significantly reducing the possibility of water entering the capsule.

Thanks to this improvement, the capsule can now withstand normal outdoor conditions such as rain, humidity, and splashes without requiring any additional gasket or seal.

However, the capsule is not designed to be fully waterproof or submerged underwater. It is intended to protect its contents from everyday environmental exposure rather than prolonged immersion.

This design keeps the capsule simple, reliable, and easy to print while still offering practical protection for your survival gear.

Compass Compatibility

The lid includes a dedicated slot designed to fit a 20.2 mm diameter, 5 mm deep mini compass. These small compasses are widely available online and are often sold as replacement compass inserts for paracord bracelets, survival gear, or DIY projects.
