Frida's Floral Crown | 3D Printed Hair Accessory

Description

Inspired by the iconic floral crowns worn by Frida Kahlo, this 3D printed headband celebrates bold femininity, artistic expression and the beauty of flowers.

The design transforms layered floral elements into a wearable hair accessory that combines fashion and function. The flowers create a vibrant crown that sits comfortably on the head, making it suitable for  cosplay, special occasions or artistic styling. 

The model is designed to be easy to print and assemble, allowing makers to create a colorful hair accessory with minimal effort.

All flower parts are printed separately and then attached to the headband following the assembly diagram. The flowers were attached to the band using a low temperature hot glue gun, making the final assembly quick and simple, superglue woulb be ok too.

The complete assembly takes approximately 10 minutes.

I  love how versatile this piece can be depending on the color choice. Printed entirely in white, it could become a delicate bridal headpiece, while darker colors could transform it into a dramatic gothic crown. Since the materials are water-resistant, the headband can even be worn at a beach party or summer event. It’s meant to be playful, expressive, and adaptable to many different styles and occasions.

Materials

The flowers were printed in PLA Matte for crisp detail and vibrant color.

The headband can be printed in either:

• PETG (recommended) for better flexibility and durability
• PLA, which also works but is slightly more rigid and less elastic

PETG provides better spring and recovery after bending, making it ideal for long-term use as a hair accessory.

Printing Notes

• The design does not require AMS.
• Each color can be printed separately on different plates.
• The parts are optimized for easy printing and minimal material use.

Assembly

You can watch the videos of how I folded-prepared the pedals before assembly:

6. The flowers feature small pegs that fit into matching holes on the headband, making positioning easy, securing them with hot glue.
7. Allow the glue to cool and secure.
8. The full assembly process takes about 10 minutes.
