Mason Bee Houses with Bird Protection

These modular bee houses are designed to support solitary bees such as mason bees. The model comes in three different house sizes and is designed to be filled with replaceable cardboard tubes. Other tubes made of reed or bamboo can also be used.

I used cardboard tubes with a diameter of 6–8 mm and a length of about 150 mm, which are ideal for many solitary bee species.

The houses can easily be mounted onto a wooden board or other surfaces. To make installation easier, I included mounting templates for each house size, so you can quickly mark the screw positions.

Usage

Insert  tubes (approx. 150 mm length, 6–8 mm diameter) into the houses and mount them in a sunny, sheltered location such as a garden wall, fence, or wooden board. Ensure the tubes are firmly in place and cannot easily slip out.

These houses are perfect for creating a bee-friendly habitat in your garden while keeping the nesting tubes protected from weather and predators.
