Hello Makers!
If you’ve ever tried hanging rolls of tape or heavy filament spools on standard pegboard hooks, you know it’s not ideal. They wobble, they fall off, and they never sit quite right. To fix this, I’ve created the next tool in our parametric storage line-up.
Introducing the Customizable Skadis Spool & Tape Generator.

The Perfect Cradle for Cylindrical Storage
This generator lets you create custom, curved shelves specifically designed to cradle round objects securely. Whether you are organizing your 3D printer filament, packing tape, or small wire spools, you can generate the exact size you need.
Key Features:
- Massive Size Range: Fully parametric sizing lets you go from a tiny D40mm x W40mm cradle (perfect for a single roll of electrical tape) all the way up to a massive D200mm x W320mm rack (ideal for holding multiple 1kg filament spools side-by-side).
- Versatile Storage: The contoured bed naturally centres and holds your items, stopping them from rolling away or falling off the wall.
- Ribbed Texture: The internal curve features grooved detailing to provide extra friction, keeping your spools exactly where you left them.
- Move bracket below build plate by 2.6mm if you want them side by side
Printing Specs
- Materials: Works great in PLA, PLA+, or PETG for extra strength if you are holding heavy spools.
Customization: The modular design allows you to mix and match colours for the side brackets to colour-code your workspace or match your workshop aesthetic.

I can't wait to see how you all use these to tidy up those messy tape drawers and filament shelves!
