Bb Clarinet Bell - Cone Bore
Print Profile(1)

Description
This is a bell for a Bb clarinet. The larger body and conical bore lends more projection and a warmer tone, and the tuning notch inside helps with intonation.
IMPORTANT information regarding filament choice and sizing. The diameter of the opening where the clarinet attaches is 26.4mm in the model design. This will change depending on your choice of filament type and how much it shrinks. The dimension is set correctly in the model, but will need to be shrinkage-compensated in your filament settings. To start with, a more rigid filament will produce a better tone, so going with something that's filled, like ABS-GF, or PET_CF are good choices due to their higher values for Young's modulus. My 3MF project file uses ABS-GF because it is more commonly available and reasonably priced. But I ended up using PET-CF for mine. I found that entering a shrinkage factor of 99.5% worked well for ABS-GF, and 99.6% worked for PET-CF. Your values may vary depending on your printer, chamber temperature, etc. You can certainly try other filaments and see what works best for you.
