Description

Boost Me (for free)

Thank you for checking out my model. If you like this project, please consider boosting me!

I learned my project was featured on Hackaday… I had done significant changes and figure I'd share.

I am still having issues with FFD it seems somewhat close, but I am uncertain if this is because I had to dismantle my lenses to repair the shutters. I checked the distances based on a repair video I found on youtube with calipers and everything looked good… but I am human and that's why this is still in “prototype” phase.

As you can see there are many changes to the design. The film is loaded top down, the lens mount is modified, the shutter uses a release cable in this current version. The body styling is more pleasing… and one of the major “want to have” features has been implemented: variable frame sizes that you can change mid roll.

This version uses m3 heatset inserts, m3 screws and a 1/4"-20 Female to 3/8"-16 Male tripod adapter for the tripod mount. The bottom lens retention pieces are optional, but kinda make things look cooler if you want that X shape.

The knobs can be joined using m3 heat set inserts, but I found the tolerance between the two peices to be very tight and it is unnecessary to do that.

Sorry I don't have screw lengths currently. Once I finalize the first iteration of the NAS Camera I will make a full parts list. Future iterations will have more features from my “want to have” list for this project, but this depends on me buckling down and learning CAD. Getting seen by Hackaday and seeing people download my project definitely encouraging and I want to thank anyone who has taken a look at my project. <3

Film advancing:

One full turn for the standard mask

half turn for the half frame mask

one and a quarter for no mask (you should cover the mask opening if shooting sans mask)

one full turn for the heart shape mask

This kind of setup will allow me to make all sorts of masks. I plan on making different designs specifically for double exposures. I need to work out the light proofing of the mask opening to achieve this better – currently you need to fully advance the film before changing the mask, but I have some ideas on how to address this.

Hi there! I appreciate your comment. I have just uploaded a new print profile that contains an updated lens mount. I was having issues with the focus scale being off for me and had to adjust the mount slightly. If you find things are not always in focus, please try the other lens mount in the second print profile named "Updated Flange Distance v2". I will continue to update and improve on this design, thank you for joining along the journey!
