Floating Tremolo Setup Wedges - Luthier Tool
Print Profile(1)

Description
This file is for a set of Floating Tremolo Setup Wedges + a Gridfinity-compatible storage bin to fit.
The wedges come in 6 total sizes and spans a range of ¼" - 1" with increments of 1/64". Each wedge is embossed with a size designation “S”, “M”, “L”, etc. The gridfinity bin is a 2X x 4Y x 5Z bin with custom slots to fit the full set of 6 wedges.
To use the wedges, first find the wedge that most closely matches the gap between the back of your tremolo block and the cavity / route behind it. The exact measurement doesn't matter, so I recommend just starting a little small and moving up. Start with your claw and springs VERY loose. Using the steps on the wedge, position the wedge to lock the tremolo into place with the bridge floating above the top of your guitar your desired amount. It should be fairly parallel to the body but hovering slightly above it. Tune the guitar to pitch and verify the bridge is still set like you want it and the wedge is blocking the bridge from moving. It should be locked in by the string tension. Then simply tighten your claw screws slowly (¼ turn at a time and alternating between screws) until the wedge falls out. Done!
