You might ask why I'd want to put a Sonoff SNZB-05P flood sensor inside a box. Everything has its explanation.

Tired of not finding an outdoor-ready open-door sensor? Well, here's a simple DIY project to convert the Sonoff SNZB-05P into one.

The idea is to use an outdoor magnetic sensor with a "Normally Open" (NO) option. This way, when the 2 magnets are together (door closed), the sensor reports "dry". When the magnets separate (door opens), the sensor detects "wet". Then, in Home Assistant and Z2MQTT, I change it to report "Closed" and "Open", respectively.

I use the Sonoff SNZB-05P because it's Zigbee (I'm more interested in this technology), its battery lasts a long time, it's IP67, and it has large pins that are easy to solder the magnetic sensor wires to.

And to help the creation last longer, I designed this simple custom box; it fits like a glove.

I made the box part with fuzzy skin and only 0.1mm; I like this finish. Feel free to remove that option.

Otherwise, these are very simple parts. I printed them in white PETG without any issues.
