Volumizing Curl Crown

Overview

This custom-designed headband helps curly-haired users combat the common “triangle effect” caused by gravity pulling curls flat at the crown during air drying. It’s especially useful for reshaping curls around cowlicks and boosting volume at the scalp.

How to Use

1. Prep your hair using your usual curly routine. The model shown uses:
   • Curl cream
   • Volumizing foam
   • Medium-hold gel
     (All applied to soaking wet hair.)
2. Wait until hair is wet but no longer dripping, then place the headband on your head.
3. Section curl clumps and use silver alligator clips to lift curls from the root and attach them to the longer prongs.
   • Model uses 3 clips per prong to lift curls and reshape the cowlick.
4. For the shorter prongs, loop the nearest curl clump around the prong and clip it to create defined curl shape at the top of the head.
5. Drying time: Leave the headband on for 20–60 minutes, depending on your hair’s drying speed, or until curls are ~80% dry.
6. Removal: Carefully unclip each section, release any loops, and lift off the headband without disturbing the curl structure.
7. Finish: Scrunch/fluff out curls once fully dry or continue with your usual styling routine. Expect noticeably more lift at the crown and scalp.
