Overview
This 70mm Aether-like is an FPV frame engineered using Fusion 360 Generative Design to achieve a drone with a sturdy strength-to-weight ratio that also looks cool. Taking inspiration from the Aether design, this frame features a unique hybrid motor configuration: the front motors are inverted (pusher) while the rear motors remain upright (puller).
Technical Specifications
- Frame Size: 70mm motor-to-motor (diagonal).
- Motor Compatibility: Designed for 0802 brushless motors.
- Design Method: Generated structural paths optimized for various force vectors and high-velocity impacts.
- Material Recommendation: Printed in Bambu PETG, can use the material of choice.
Key Features
- Aether Layout: The inverted front motors lower the center of gravity and provide a unique flight feel, perfect for technical indoor racing or cinematic proximity flying.
- Generative Geometry: Every arm and support has been "grown" by Fusion 360 to handle torque, moment forces, and thrust while removing unnecessary mass.
Printing & Assembly Tips
- Supports: Used tree supports with the model oriented so that the front face is facing the build plate. This allows for the motor mounts to print properly and tree supports slim were used to help the vertical design come out better.
- Components: Used all BETAFPV tinywhoop components other than motors.
- FC Mounting: Designed for standard AIO (All-in-One) flight controllers common in the "TinyWhoop" class and Lava LiPo.
- Camera: Designed for BETAFPV C03 camera.
