Description

Replacement exterior window vent grill covers for use on PVC windows.

Replacements for 192mm x 17mm vent grills (external full length size) or 172mm x 13mm holes in the PVC frame.

Replaces original triangular shaped/inset ones (dirty one shown in pictures), but as the triangular shape does not work too well 3D printed (replicated and failed in use), this flat version is designed differently, and works better when 3D printed.

The clips are printed flat for strength and should be inserts into the vent gril at the designated points - both ends and the middle - identifiable by the raised sections on the top.

Designed to accommodate the clips with inset grill design, so the clips end up flush with the design from below where they will be seen when looking up at them in place.

Does not require any supports - the inset design is minimal - only 2mm in max width - the clips are 1.6mm to fit in nicely and account for printer variation.

Print Profiles:

  • There are profiles available for a single, a pair or 10x window vents, with the correct number of clips available on each profile.
  • If you wish to print between 2 and 10, please just remove the required from the 10x profile, to get them all on one print bed.
  • The clips are classed as “Assembly”, with each “Assembly” being the required 3x clips per vent grill, so removing 1x “Assembly” removes a corresponding 3x clips.
  • Printed with PETG - more flexible than PLA which the clips require for positioning onto the vent grill and for inserting into the window frame.
    • PLA should be fine due to the orientation of the clip when printed, but not personally tested.

To use:

  • Remove the current dirty / broken vent grills that exist in place in the PVC window frame.
  • Insert the 3x clips into the printed vent grill.
  • Insert the vent grill into the existing hole of the original vent grill (push on the grill at the individual clip points to ensure they are clipped in place)

Please note:

  • The pictures primarily show v1.0 - where the clips are positioned slightly in from the ends - this model has not been uploaded as they drooped slightly at the ends, and as such updated to v1.1 which has the clips positioned at the end of the vents and middle. Please see the vertical picture with the old and new vent covers that show v1.1 (Picture 2 - blue back ground).
  • The post (available models and print profiles) has been updated to replace version v1.0 of the clips with v2.0 which feature a minor angle on the clips, to make removal far easier thanv1.0. They are also 0.8mm wide vs 0.6mm of v1.0 so fit more snuggly into position, looking neater.

Please ensure yours and others safety if working at height and use appropriate equipment.

For personal use only.
