Diictodon Skull – Life Size Permian Fossil Replica

This is a life-size replica of a Diictodon skull, a small burrowing dicynodont that lived during the Permian period around 260 million years ago.

Diictodon was a distant relative of mammals and part of the synapsid lineage that eventually led to us. Despite its small size, it was one of the most successful animals of its time and its fossils are found in huge numbers across ancient Permian deposits.

This model captures the distinctive features of the skull including the large eye sockets, short snout and characteristic tusk sockets that make dicynodonts so recognisable.

The skull prints cleanly and the supports are very easy to remove, making this a great project whether you're printing it for a fossil collection, classroom display, or a prehistoric themed shelf.

Once printed, it makes a great desk-scale fossil replica and pairs well with other early synapsid skulls from the Permian and Triassic.
