Bill of Materials
Description
Lightweight filament spool holder designed to use as little material as possible while staying strong and reliable. The model uses around 25 g of filament, prints fully in place, and requires no assembly.
I designed and tested this primarily on Bambu Lab A1 Mini with a BMCU 370C. Wanted something compact, efficient and durable after finding many holders either too bulky or too fragile around the bosses. This version keeps things minimal while staying sturdy.
It’s designed around 685ZZ bearings for smooth rotation, but it also works without bearings if needed. Without bearings the friction is higher (as expected), which may affect certain setups, but it still works well for general use.
A 608ZZ bearing variant is also included.
The bearing bosses are designed with a tight press fit so the bearings sit properly and stay secure during use. While installing, use any flat metal object to press them in evenly. It may feel a bit tight while pushing, that’s normal. But once fully seated, the bearings will stay firmly in place and won’t come out easily.
This holder has been tested with Sunlu 500 g refill spools, Sunlu 1 kg spools and Tinmorry 1 kg spools, works well with all of them.
Hope this helps your setup. Feedback and boosts are always appreciated.
