Real Mac Pro Trash Can
Print Profile(1)

Description
When I found this Mac Pro (2013) case on the second-hand market for only $40, I couldn’t resist as an industrial designer. Even today, it still feels like a peak of industrial design.
To make good use of it, I decided to turn it into a real desktop trash can. After several rounds of testing and small adjustments, I finally made the 3D-printed parts fit smoothly with the original case.
I also kept the original screw holes in the base and recreated the iconic lock. When you flip the latch, you still get that familiar feeling of opening a Mac—so even when you’re putting in a trash bag, there’s still a bit of Apple-style fun.
Parts needed:
- 5 × M3 × 4 × 5 screws
- 8 × magnets (3 mm diameter, 1.5 mm thick)
