🔧 Purpose:

This is scraper with much more functionality.  The SMT is a multi tool that helps with with all aspects of printing. Weather its scraping  prints and supports of the bed, cutting filament or working on your printer or printed projects  the SMT can help.  For this project i wanted to use a bunch of hardware that i had sitting around. For this reason, i put no limitations on using non 3d printed parts.  

 🧠 About:

There are two versions of the SMT right now. The SMT PRO and the SMT Lite. 

SMT PRO:

The Pro version is designed with quality in mind.  Heat inserts hold every screw tighter and will hold for longer. The automatic extending scraper swings out  and locks into place with a metal pin.  Unique to the Pro version is a 2 bit magnetic storage for the built in screwdriver. Over all the SMT PRO is built better has more functionality  and is over all more satisfying with its automatic extending blade. 

SMT Lite:

The SMT Lite is a striped down version or the Pro with almost all of the same functionality.  Missing from the Lite is the 2 bit storage, Heat inserts, and the automatic extending blade. The automatic extending blade has been swapped for a manual blade and the the lack of heated inserts will make for a less secure fit if the screws are ever unscrewed. Overall i think that these compromises don't take to much away form the functionality and help bring down the price of the hardware.   

⚙️ Functions:

Opining:

• Press down on the center knob and the scraper will come out (watch your fingers)
• If you have the latched version of the lock you will have to press down on the side button for it to go back up

Closing: 

• To close pull the center knob down and turn the rotator with your finger (watch your fingers)
• If you have the latched version of the lock you will have to press down on the side button for it to go back up
• Use one hand if you're confident or to if you're not 

Filament Cutter:

• Pull back on the filament cutter then insert your filament this will hold it in place
• Push the filament cutter forward to cut the filament 
• Different filaments will take different amounts of force to cut

H(=15mm)

🖨️ Printing:

• you can use PLA but PETG or ABS will be much stronger
• Dry filament has better tolerances
• print Profile has all settings pre applied
• .2 layer Hight
• 25% infill
• 5 walls
• Auto Tree support
• Use a raft or brim if needed

📐 Tolerances:

There are many things that cause tighter tolerances. Printer calibration, wet filament, and many others are examples. If you are having problems with tolerances please scale the part before leaving a Comment. If you still have problems leave a Comment with witch part doesn't fit.

🛠️ Tools:

SMT PRO:

• Super glue 
• Heat insert tool/soldering iron(I used a long 2.5mm bolt and a lighter ;) 
• 1.5mm Hex Key (comes with printer)

SMT Lite:

• Super glue 
• 1.5mm Hex Key (comes with printer)

🧩 Pre-Assembly:

• Support removal.
  Carefully remove all supports. None of the supports are difficult to remove.
