The flat-mounted display of the Snapmaker bothered me a bit, and I wanted the display at the same angle as my Bambu Lab printers. Since previous designs didn't convince me because they required additional accessories, I designed my own solution that works without any accessories

Boost Me (for free)

I hope you like my design and it fits your needs. If so, feel free to boost me. It is free for you and motivates me to help you out next time ;)

The frame simply and perfectly clicks into position. The display must be disconnected from the ribbon cable for this, which is not difficult. Assembling it with the ribbon cable is a bit fiddly, but I managed it without assistance

The display is only glued into the plastic frame with narrow strips of double-sided adhesive tape and can be easily pushed out of the frame with a little patience or pried out from the front with a flat lever (a flat metal spatula worked well for me). If you want to push the display out, you need to loosen a panel from the inside of the printer, which is only clicked into position. Just be a little careful, and it will work

The ribbon cable can be pulled a bit further out of the hole without any problems (see pictures). If you are unsure, remove the upper panel on the inside of the printer and pull the then visible ribbon cable in the right, front corner of the printer a bit vertically upwards. That worked great for me. Don't pull too hard, the cable should not be damaged

Have fun with the design, I hope it works as well for you as it did for me

PS: I assume no liability for damage to the device due to excessive force or similar. Installation at your own risk

Will you please share the filament info that you used? It matches really well.

I used simple white PLA :) Maybe it matches even better with matte white PLA.

I understand :D But it's actually really easy and reversible too. You'll see, it's worth it ;)

don't even think about doing it without having a new screen to put on, as soon as you apply the slightest leverage, the screen cracks, I even did it with a plastic tool

That is really unfortunate. It worked for me and the other display-adapter-designs had the same procedure. It helps to push from behind and apply a bit of heat to soften the double sided tape. Although the last step wasn't necessary for me.

For some reason, the author doesn’t write that separating the display from the body is not so easy! The matrix is actually made of glass and cracks if you start prying it with a spatula! The author doesn’t write about this. Anyone who wants to separate the display from the body, know that the glass will crack and you will ruin the display. And it’s not very easy to separate it, it’s glued very well. Bad idea!
