Easter – Jesus’ Resurrection Suspended String Sculpture Lamp

Tired of all the Easter bunnies and eggs this Easter? Here’s something different and meaningful! Presenting the unique Easter-themed sculpture of Jesus’ Ascension, capturing the moment Christ rises upward with open arms - symbolizing hope, renewal, and resurrection. The design portrays Jesus ascending toward the heavens, giving the sculpture a powerful spiritual presence while maintaining a clean, modern aesthetic. This model is compatible with the LED Lamp Kit 001.

 

UPDATE: I Recommend to not use the fully colored profile, as this needs very carefully calibrated printers, and sometimes the stringing effect can be ruined because of color changes.

Novel String-Based Structural Architecture

What makes this model truly special is its string-based structural system. Instead of solid supports or thick walls, the spiral structure uses helically arranged bridges printed directly during the print. These strands act as distributed structural elements, transferring loads gradually along the spiral. Key aspects of the design:

  • The strings are structural, not just decorative
  • They are printed as bridges arranged helically
  • Loads are distributed across multiple tensioned strands
  • The result is a lightweight but stable floating structure

This creates the visual illusion that Jesus is floating and ascending upward, while the spiral strings quietly carry the structural loads.

 

Print Profiles Included

Three print profiles are provided:

  1. Single Color
  2. Multicolor (AMS) 
  3. No-AMS Version (Pause Based)

LED Lighting Feature

The sculpture is designed to work with LED Lamp 001, which installs inside the cavity in the base, not on top. The base includes:

  • A dedicated cavity for LED Lamp 001
  • A diffuser plate that sits above the LED
  • The diffuser softens the light to create a subtle upward glow

This lighting enhances the ascension effect, illuminating the sculpture from below while the spiral leads the eye upward.

 

Printing Notes

  • The string elements rely on clean bridging performance
  • Strong part cooling is recommended
  • Slower speeds help produce cleaner bridge strands
  • Most important: remove supports very carefully without damaging the strings
  • Use pliers and small cutters to cut the supports into smaller pieces before removing them
  • Do not try to pull large sections off at once
  • Be patient during cleanup for the best final result
  • For best bridging results, make sure your printer and filament profiles are well calibrated.
